About Pregnancy yoga.....
Pregnancy yoga classes include breathing exercises, asana practice (yoga postures), pelvic floor practice and relaxation exercises. All attendees will receive handouts on pelvic floor work, breathing exercises and perineal massage. If you have your own yoga mat please bring it, wear loose comfortable clothing. Yoga is practiced in your bare feet!
You do not need to be flexible or have done yoga before to enjoy this class to the maximum, it is suitable for women from week 15 of your pregnancy right up to full term if you are feeling well and able!
This is an energetic and dynamic yoga class, suitable for men and women, previous yoga experience is beneficial but not necessary. There is a focus on abdominal and core work (ideal for post pregnancy) in this class combined with a fluid Vinyasa style yoga, the class will always finish with a 10 minute well earned relaxation.
Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement," in this style of yoga class one moves from one pose into the next on an in or out breath. Vinyasa yoga allows for a variety of poses and stretches.
The continual movements, from one pose to another, gives you an added cardiovascular benefit, which more traditional forms of yoga do not have. The routine practice of vinyasa yoga can increase muscle strength, endurance and flexibility, and reduce levels of stress.
