I am a qualified yoga teacher and have been
teaching yoga since 2000. I trained in hatha yoga (Sivananda School). Since
completing my teaching has been influenced by many styles of yoga including
Iyengar, Jivamukti and Vinyasa styles in which i have completed many workshops,
my core training still remains in the hatha tradition.I have taught specialist
groups from sports people to persons with physical and mental disability.
I have also been teaching Pregnancy yoga (Birthligh
UK trained & Elbow Room Dublin prenatal training) for the last 7 years. It
can be practiced right up to term and the breath work is very useful in
birthing and labouring. Classes also incorporate pelvic floor work
which will help to stabilise and strengthen muscles of the lower back and
help with pelvic muscle control both pre and post birth. As a new Mum I can't tell you how valuable control of the breath and mind is in the birth and labouring process!
Anyone can practice yoga all you need is the will
to do it! In my classes I offer first and foremost and enjoyable and fun
experience offering a balance between the physical activity and mental relaxation.
You do not have to be able to touch your toes to do yoga! Flexibility is
something that will develop relatively quickly with regular with practice.
classes involve the following:
- Breath control or Pranayama
- Strengthening and toning of
- Balancing postures
- Postures to improve flexibility
